Do I really need to update the Pars every time I process a race card data file?
Yes!
When you process the race card data file in the Par Update module, ALL-Ways adds the past performance races of all the horses that are running to the Race History Database for all the tracks represented in the past performances. In this manner, you are continually updating the Pars, Daily Track Variants, Track-to-Track Adjustments and Race Shapes for virtually every track in the country. This is very important in order for ALL-Ways to calculate accurate Hall pace and speed figures, Hambleton pace figures, Scott Ability Times and Brohamer pace figures. It is also important because it insures that you have the Quirin Race Shape designation for each horse’s past performance races.
