FAQ # 38
ALL-WaysTM Support
Why is it that sometimes it appears I have the minimum number of races in the Race Database for a track in order to use Multiple Regression Analysis but the MRA function doesnt create a Handicapping Profile?
Actually, ALL-Ways handles the minimum MRA races properly. Two things could cause you to think otherwise.
First, be aware that the minimum applies to each race category. The MRA Default function, for example, requires the minimum for non maiden dirt sprints before it will create the non maiden dirt sprint profiles. The same is true for non maiden dirt routes, turf races, maiden dirt sprints and maiden dirt routes. So, lets say you have the minimum set at 20 races. ALL-Ways will require that you have 20 non maiden dirt sprints in order to create the MRA default profiles for non maiden dirt sprint races. It will require 20 races for each of the other categories as well.
Second, when ALL-Ways runs the MRA Default function, it takes over and controls the race screens that screen races in and out of the analysis. There is one race screen that the MRA Default function uses that is not apparent. Specifically, the MRA Default function excludes races carded for two year olds. So, while you may think you have the minimum number of races for the MRA Default function, you may actually have less than the minimum when races for two year olds are excluded. You can test this by turning on all the Age and Sex Restrictions (ASRs) except "3". ASR "3" is for two year olds only.
